Patient Quote

"Many of the employees at Barix Clinics are also former Barix Clinics patients.  One of them showed me her before and after pictures, it seemed like we had so much in common."

BARIATRIC SURGERY CONSULTATION

Your Initial Consultation - Getting Your Questions Answered - Confidentially

What is an initial consultation?

Barix Clinics' initial consultation is uniquely designed to answer medical and personal questions - for you and your family. During the consultation, a board-certified surgeon will explain, in simple, non-technical language, the entire Barix Clinics process, including an overview of the surgery.  You may choose to participate in this explanation individually or with a small group of others who are considering bariatric surgery.  The surgeon will also review your medical history with you in a private setting.

Where do I go for my consultation?

These discussions happen at our specially designed facility, a place where you will be treated with the respect and understanding that only a dedicated medical team that focuses only on the severely overweight can provide. Friends and family are not only welcome, they are encouraged to come along. Here you can get all your unique questions addressed - and meet the team who help you through your journey.

How do I schedule my consultation?

Call us toll-free at 800-282-0066, or click here to request a consultation online.

What happens at a consultation?

At your consultation, you'll complete a medical history form that reviews your medical history, including any illnesses you've had and any medications you're taking. This information assists the surgeon in evaluating your case. If possible, bring a copy of your medical records from your family doctor. It is an effective way to make sure our medical staff has the medical information they'll need.

A medical professional will weigh you, take your pulse and blood pressure, and review the medical history form with you. You'll also begin the process for receiving your insurance approval.

What should I bring to my consultation?

It helps if you prepare a few things before you visit.

  • Any questions you have about the procedure or our program. Write them down so you're sure to remember them.
  • Your Health Insurance Card
  • Referral from your doctor, if needed
  • If you can, a copy of your medical records from your family doctor
  • Wear comfortable clothes (you won't have to undress for the consultation)
  • Remember your map to Barix Clinics
